Where it's at:

Points of interest in the Family Frei:
- The Don Pedro High School yearbooks came out, and my sister was voted Best All Around, Most Likely to Succeed, Class Clown, and Most Athletic. My brother was voted Best Dressed. (Lets keep it on the D.L. that there are only six students in their graduating class).
- My mom and my sister are making rock candy in the kitchen window above the sink.
- Our closest neighbors got chickens, so now our rooster and their rooster have crowing contests at ungodly hours in the morning.
- After the monthly trip to Costco, my mom came back with a case of Juice Squeezes in all flavors. I love Juice Squeezes.
- I got a big FedEx package from the Peace Corps asking me to go to Benin, West Africa.
While I am excited about all of these recent happenings, I hope you all have the discernment to know which one I’m most excited about. Never mind the fact that I had to look at a map to figure out where Benin even is, I almost peed my pants when I got that packages. So far my dad has done more research on the country than I have, but this is only because I have been busy being a bridesmaid for my best friend from growing up. I have had a little time though, to learn that it is one of the most stable countries in Africa, and yet it ranks 161 out of 177 countries in the UN Human Development Report. I’ll be teaching English to 7th- 12th graders. And now I have to go get busy filling out visa applications.

I'm assuming that juice squeezes top the list. Not much compares to those delectably carbonated juice drinks.
But, really, you must be so excited. I bet it was starting to feel as if you would never know... but now you do. I immediately looked Benin up on a map/ online encyclopedia and the BBC when I got your facebook post. Wow B. Wow.
Betsie, Benin, B squared and such good news about both. I am still in Costa Rica, to return on June 12th. I sincerely need to connect with you. God is crazy and He's stirring up my little heart as I try to relax in a small beach town after my stint on an organic spice farm. I get my placement in August, let's hope for a Benin in my future as well. So good to hear about DP. You're such a gem Betsie, I love you,

Ah Betsie....such exciting news!! I happen to know right where Benin is on a map, because when I took a geography class, I tried to make up a song to remember all the countries in Africa. The ony part I remember is Ghana, Togo, Benin! All right in row. Hmm, glad I shared that. I am so thrilled for you!!!! I can't wait to talk to you...Renny
